Sugar Line

There was a bit of a lineup of insects trying to get some energy on a cold day.
The impatient wasp nipped the ladybug a couple times, but she would not budge.
The line was stalled.
When I checked back later, the ladybug had moved under the white ring and the wasp finally found the way to the sugar.
Party in the garden! What a great photo.
Inscets on a sugar high.
That is a great shot. Any hummers?
I had one come by when the feeder was empty. Now that I put out the full one, no hummers.
They are sort of ephemeral. I guess that is why we love them. They were here for a few days in December and gone.
It is my understanding that “Ladybugs” do not warrant the name of being “ladies.”
As I always told my kids, I didn’t name it. 🙂
Great shot! I’ve thought about putting my feeder out, as there’s nothing much in nature. Thanks for the reminder!
I very upset as I had a feeder out, but it must have been empty, as a hummer stopped by but didn’t stay. I haven’t seen any since I put the full feeder out.
LB was trying to taking a nap in the wrong place!
She was not going to move. It was a cold day for here.
Guess humans and insects have that in common…. 🧁sugar high🍩
Nothing better!
Our hummer feeder often has a few sugar lovers in addition to an avian patron. They seem to coexist well. Nice shot!
