A Sunny Day

There is nothing like a sunny day in the winter. We were not the only ones sunning in the backyard.

A Red Admiral butterfly was also taking advantage of the sun’s warmth. The weather here can change within hours and today our sunny day is changing to high winds with gusts up to 45 mph and a temperature drop of 40 degrees from yesterday. Last weekend we had severe storms and a tornado in our community. Cleanup was still taking place yesterday.

I hope the Red Admiral can find warm shelter.
I was like that butterfly yesterday, glad I did for today is damp and chilly ..no sun. We have some clean up around ,but I’m going to wait until this storm Izzy goes through. Stay warm.🙂
Stay safe.
Hope you didn’t have problems resulting from the tornado. Sounds very frightening. Maybe the Red Admiral made it someplace safe. I saw an American Lady on New Year Day, but then the weather turned very cold.
The tornado didn’t make it to my house. Ours are usually EF1 and shear of the tops of trees which often fall of roofs.
If that is your husband the butterfly seems to like him! Enjoy it while it lasts, we are supposed to get our coldest temps tomorrow.
Yes, it is my husband and the butterfly certainly was attracted to him. We are having a cold snap tonight, but not as bad as the last one.
Sweet companion! Looks nice and warm there in the sun. ❤
I hope you manage the latest stormy weather without incident!
I hope so.
Nice to have friends drop by for a visit.
Yes, it was really fun.
Now, that’s wonderful. There’s nothing like a visit from a butterfly to make the day complete. It sounds like we’ll have a good day; the wind still was howling when I went to bed last night, but it seems to have laid now. With highs in the mid-50s, it will be a good day to be out.
I hope your lovely butterfly will be alright, I can’t imagine he will find any companions out and about.
My next post is about all the caterpillars I found. Our warm December put them all out of sync.
I’ll look out for that.
The friendliest of butterflies! I love it when one of those admirals lands on some part of me! Glad your hub was so welcoming!
He enjoyed it, as it doesn’t happen often.
