This bromeliad was one of the plants I had in my Christmas post. I thought it was prefect for the holiday as the flowers of this first time bloomer were red and green. I was quite amazed when the flowers opened all the way and they were blue. The bromeliad was full of surprises this year.
Well, it certainly is pretty. I’ve never seen a blue bromeliad flower, and didn’t realize they exist. Then, I remembered something: the flower of ball moss is blue.
Quite frankly, I have no idea what this plant is and I’m hoping that someone who knows more will identify it. I couldn’t find one with those flowers on internet search. Before blogging I just bought what I liked and didn’t pay that much attention.
Wow, really pretty, and unexpected! 😃
It is really interesting to have so many unusual plants in this part of the country.
Ooh, the blue and green are beautiful.
Nature can come up with great colors.
That’s gorgeous! What a nice winter gift.
Yes it is, but so tiny I really have to get close to see the flowers.
Oh how beautiful! Very exotic.
I have several tropicals that like to bloom in the winter. Of course, there is always a threat of freezing.
What a lovely surprise! And blue – one of my favourite colours in the garden.
