It’s Cold

Well, what we near the Gulf Coast call cold.  We had a hard freeze and I was surprised to see the hummingbird feeder frozen… complete with a drip.

Apparently, we also had sleet/freezing rain.  But not to worry, it is going to be 70 degrees by Sunday.

I knew it was real when I saw the icicles hanging. Well, there was that block of ice in the birdbath.

So sorry! But I’m glad it’s going to warm up soon. It’s icy cold in St. Louis, too, but we’re not getting a major warm up anytime soon.

I think the southern states have all been hit with a good dose of cold… at least it’s not April and froze a lot of fruit buds. I like the like frozen drip.

  4. Ugh, freezing here at 38 degrees!

It’s about to warm up, so that’s something! It’s January, I’m glad it’s a bit cold, though I’m no fan! Love the shot of the hummingbird feeder!

  6. I wish we could say the same about 70 degrees coming up! Yikes, girlfriend — it’s cold here!

  7. Sheryl says:

I hope that the hummingbirds have already flown even further south. It seems like the cold weather would make it rough for them.

That dark green glossy plant looks so healthy, may I ask what it is called?
