Flashback Friday

This part of the world is not known for beautifully colored leaves in the Fall.  Occasionally it happens, but not until December.  This year has almost no color and most of the leaves turned brown. The Crape Myrtle is the most colorful tree in the garden and it is a bit sad.  The lack of color may be because of the amount of rain that has fallen this year.

Take a look at today’s Flashback to see a more colorful Fall.

See Crepe Myrtle is the most colorful tree/shrub in a yard! Also Dad said Sasanquas can be about a 10 ft tree or shrub, depending on the way you prune it; nevertheless, an evergreen.

We had a late Fall with not much color this year as well.

  3. Do you have Hickories? I thought I saw some – the best yellow color? There are approximately 3 Red Maples that change color on the edge of the swamp near here – I always go see them and then get over it!

Our crepe myrtles just turned, too. Yesterday, they were glorious against the bright blue sky. Today, half the leaves are gone, and all the drizzle and gloom has dimmed their glory. I expect a whole lot of bare branches in about 48 hours.

  5. Ah, but those trees look lovely in these photos. More so because all our leaves in S. Ontario are now gone and the bare limbs are covered with snow….

Your fall is later than ours. It’s definitely winter here. 🙂
