Please Don’t Eat the Daisies

DSC_0158

This post was going to be titled “The Daisies Finally Bloomed”, but the deer got to them before the daisies were photographed.  They manged to bite off almost every flower and trample the plants.  It even looks as if some creature took a nap in the middle of the daisies and flattened them out.

The deer have not been visiting the front yard for awhile, but now they are back munching and tasting every plant and shrub they pass by. Hopefully, the daisies will have better luck next year.

  1. Deer only enjoy the pretty plants?

Darned deer. I wish I had some words of wisdom, but alas, not where deer are concerned.

They are such a nuisance in the garden – we have some populations of wild deer here as well, and if you are unfortunate enough to live in an area that they do, between them and the possums and wallabies, your chances of growing anything other than prickly cactus are slim.
Hopefully the daisies think of it as dead-heading and produce twice as many blooms soon…

    • The deer haven’t been around for awhile and I think I got a little too bold in my choices. The pentas and salvias that are permanently there were not touched. I need to stay with the tried and true.
