The bed of Balsam Impatiens is now in full bloom.  It self-seeded last fall and the seeds waited out the winter for the perfect time to germinate.

The Balsam Impatiens will soon begin the reseeding cycle for one more blooming period in late summer.  The plants will go to seed again in late fall.

That is so lovely – I tried (very unsuccessfully) to get impatiens to grow more than 1″ tall in my garden, but to no avail. Yours look stunning!

  2. I don’t think I’ve ever seen this sort of impatiens! We mostly get the box store variety around here (everywhere around here!) When they had that disease problem with them a couple of years ago, it was very difficult for people to find any. I think they substituted begonia but that doesn’t have that “pop” of color in shady areas that folks like so much. Thx for sharing these!!!

  3. What a gift that is. Lush and plenty.
