Award

What a wonderful surprise to be nominated by Matt @http://railwayparade.wordpress.com for the LIEBSTER Award.  Thank you Matt!

Here is an explanation of the award passed on from Matt.

So what are these awards? I have done a little research and it seems they are a bit like chain letters, except you are not promised great riches as long as you keep them going and you are not threatened with catastrophe if you don’t. Really, they are a way of telling other people when you find a blog that you enjoy, which is lovely, as we all hope that we are not talking to ourselves when we write……..So what do you have to do when accepting the Liebster Award? You link back with the person who nominated you then you have to answer the 11 questions  they sent you.

Here are the answers to Matt’s questions:

  1. What is the best thing about blogging?
Taking pictures of my plants and others viewing them.
  1. How did you come up with your blog name?
After working so hard in the garden, I needed to come up with an easier way to have beds of flowers and figured out how to make the garden regenerate itself or become Automatic. I also wanted to post Gluten Free recipes and decided to combine the two.
  1. What is your favourite tree?
Weeping Bottle Brush. It is evergreen, has beautiful red flowers, and attracts wildlife.
  1. Favourite shrub?
    Any kind of Camellia.
  1. What would be your ideal sized garden?
Smaller than my current one which has 12 very large beds, nearly 100 trees and a combination of 50 camellias and azaleas.
  1. Besides gardening, what is your favourite hobby?
    Quilting.
  1. What is your favourite type of music?
    Rock ‘n Roll.
  1. What book(s) are you currently reading?
    Cooked by Michael Pollan.
  1. Where is your ideal holiday destination?
    The Appalachian Mountains.
  1. Do you prefer sweet or savoury foods?
Sweet! I love anything with sugar in it.
  1. Name five famous people (alive or dead) that you would love to have a dinner party with?
John Bartram, Benjamin Franklin, Paul Simon, Mary Tyler Moore (as Mary Richards), and Sally Ride.
