The Dog Days of Summer

It is hot and the plants are feeling it.  The Gulf Coast of Texas has been under a heat advisory and add to that, dust is blowing in from the Sahara Desert and clouding the sky.

The first Dog Days of Summer were declared by the Romans blaming the hot weather on the Dog Star Sirius, which at that time rose with the sun.

Plants wilt in the heat of the day, but as soon as the sun starts to set, they will perk up again.  As always, soon the earth will tilt, weather will change and cooler days will be here.
