The stuff of dreams, your heart’s desire, the drug of choice for gardeners…THE SEED CATALOGS!  Others may covet shoes, clothes, electronics, but to a gardener this is our eye candy.   We imagine the perfect garden filled with endlessly blooming flowers and blemish free vegetables.

Now the hard part … self control!

Come on, that is what the PLASTIC is for. Buy, buy, buy, it is what they want. I will be looking to see what you decided to purchase.

Looks like you’ve got a great stash there! Have fun.
Hey, I noticed the rufous hummer pic you have. I love that little guy but haven’t seen one around my garden in years. Glad to know they are still around these parts. David/:0)

    • I have had Rufous hummingbirds for at least 5 years and possible more, as I thought it was a Ruby Throat. The Rufous is not a picky eater and will feed on anything blooming. I have a Weeping Bottlebrush tree, which is a huge magnet for hummers and as it is evergreen it is safe and warm for them and many other birds. Even more exciting I once had a Buff-bellied the summer of Hurricane Ike. He made it through the storm as was out the next morning. He was much bigger than the Ruby Throats and let them know it!

just love the day when the seeds arrive! Of course, now that we are growing plants for customers too, the seed order is huge and almost intoxicating.
